A Distinguished History
Join the country's first postgraduate PT Fellowship
Established in 1979, the Kaiser Hayward Physical Therapy
Fellowship Program in Advanced Orthopedic Manual Therapy is the
longest running manual therapy fellowship program in the United
States.
We were founded on the principle that every individual shares in the
responsibility to consistently provide high quality health care
services and to practice in a legal, ethical and caring manner.
The Mission of the Kaiser Hayward Physical Therapy Fellowship
Program in Advanced Orthopedic Manual Therapy is to prepare physical
therapists with advanced diagnostic and clinical management skills
in orthopedic manual physical therapy, which is integrated with a
foundation in the applied sciences and scientific inquiry. The
program seeks to develop master clinicians who will be independent
practitioners in a collaborative medical model. These master
clinicians will take a leadership role as consultants and educators
within the community and the profession, as well as contribute to
evidence based practice.
The PT Fellowship program attracts clinicians from across the
country and overseas, contributing to a unique learning experience.
Our diverse graduate population now practices in 26 states.
Our
program is recognized by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual
Physical Therapists (AAOMPT). It is credentialed by the American
Physical Therapy Association (APTA) as a post professional
fellowship program for physical therapists in manual therapy.
The faculty of the Physical Therapy Fellowship subscribe to the
Mission and Principles of Responsibility of the Kaiser Permanente
Medical Care Program.
